Biochar: What is it?

Biochar is a nutrient and carbon-rich soil additive made from plants, a semi-biological fertiliser that supports both soil health and productivity. Using biochar on farm allows you to reap its benefits for livestock welfare, crop yields, and long-term soil improvement.
Biochar improves your soil from the ground up. Its porous structure acts like a sponge — holding onto water and nutrients — while creating a stable home for beneficial microbes. Once applied, it supports better root growth, improved soil biology, and long-lasting fertility.
